CLASSES OFFERED BY MIKE LAWRENCE

The most popular format is for me to come to your club where I will teach for two days.

The format is this.

DAY ONE

I teach a class before lunch.

We have lunch.

The class then plays hands based on the topic of the day.

DAY TWO

I teach a class before lunch.

We have lunch.

The class then plays hands based on the topic of the day.

A common set of topics is:

  1. Responding to a takeout double.  Many think they know all about this topic.  Few do.
  2. Bidding when your RHO opens with a preempt.  I offer lots of guidelines and some cautions as well.  It’s no fun when your RHO preempts.  This discussion gives you the tools and judgment to have a chance.

If this interests you, please contact me by email or by phone.  I will fill you in on all the obvious questions including the possibility of my being there for more than two days.

OTHER TEACHING OPTIONS

Private lessons in your home.

I will come to your home and will teach a group of 3,4 or 5 students.  The way this class works is that I will play with one member of the group against two of the other members.  The last two will kibitz. After a break, we will have a new lineup during which time I will play with another member of the group.  By the time we are finished, I will have played with each member of the group two or more times.

Typically, this event goes on for three days.  More are possible.

Private lessons in my home.

Come to my house with your group and we will have sessions of bridge just like the ones that occur when I come to your home.

Email correspondence.

If you, or you and your partner, want to have a way to find answers, you can sign up for email correspondence.  For a fee, I will give you one hour of my time answering your bridge questions.  In fact, it’s closer to two hours than one.  The answers are good ones, not a one or two word opinion.  As long as there is time on the clock, the questions and answers will continue.  The only requirement is that if you sign up for an hour, the time has to be used within six months.
